PII Detection Warnings

AUDIGYD includes automatic PII (Personally Identifiable Information) detection to help protect sensitive data in your assessment responses.

What Is PII Detection?

PII detection automatically scans your responses and uploaded files for sensitive personal information such as:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Credit card numbers
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Physical addresses
  • Passport or ID numbers
  • Date of birth information

When Warnings Appear

You'll see a PII warning when:

  • You type or paste content containing potential PII into a text response
  • You upload a file that contains detected PII
  • A warning banner appears next to the affected question

What to Do When Flagged

When PII is detected:

1.Review the flagged content — Check if the detected item is actually PII
2.Redact if necessary — Remove or mask the sensitive information

- Replace with placeholders: "SSN: XXX-XX-XXXX"

- Remove the specific data while keeping context

3.Confirm if appropriate — If the PII is intentionally included and necessary, you can acknowledge the warning
4.Re-upload cleaned files — If a file contains PII, redact it and upload the cleaned version

Redaction Tips

  • Use generic references instead of specific personal data
  • Reference policy names or document IDs rather than individual records
  • If screenshots are needed, blur or redact PII before uploading
  • Consider whether the PII is truly necessary for the assessment

Important Notes

  • PII detection is automated and may occasionally flag false positives
  • Always err on the side of caution with sensitive data
  • Your workspace's privacy settings may affect PII detection behavior
  • Contact your workspace owner if you're unsure about handling flagged content
